About HAP

The Hepatitis Appropriations Partnership (HAP) is a national coalition based in Washington, DC and includes community-based organizations, public health and provider associations, national hepatitis and HIV organizations, and diagnostic, pharmaceutical and bio-technology companies dedicated to increasing public funding and support for viral hepatitis. HAP works with policy makers and public health officials to increase federal support for hepatitis prevention, testing, education, research and treatment.

The National Alliance of State & Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) founded HAP, formerly the Hepatitis C Appropriations Partnership (HCAP). NASTAD is responsible for convening the coalition; including agenda setting, seeking new members and carrying out activities, such as monthly calls and annual face-to-face meeting (in partnership with NVHR), maintain and update series of fact sheets, scheduling coalition hill visits, meetings with Congress, Administration, HHS and Agencies.

Oscar Mairena, Manager of Viral Hepatitis and Policy & Legislative Affairs at NASTAD, is the Coordinator.
